2014 Epting/Mathews Co-op Student of the Year

2014 Co-op Student of the YearDanielle is a chemical engineering major from Ocean Springs, MS who co-oped with Axiall Corporation in Aberdeen, MS for three terms. While there, she served as a valuable member by implementing the first 5S project on the environmental labs, executed a thorough random value survey, and supervised the review of 40+ procedures in the environmental manual. Her most challenging project to date is the implementation of extensive monitoring and testing of some new equipment to make sure it meets standards of the Environmental Protection Agency. Danielle’s employer says she has done some great work and has become well-known and respected as part of the workforce at Axiall.

Dr. Bill Elmore, Interim Director and Hunter Henry Chair, Chemical Engineering, speaks very highly of Danielle. He called it a privilege to teach her and work closely with her in American Institute of Chemical Engineers MSU student chapter. He said she is an excellent student with a strong commitment and always eager to serve in any capacity needed.

While at Mississippi State, she has earned the honor of being on the President’s list for several semesters. Besides being an excellent student herself, she is actively involved in regular community service projects with Habitat for Humanity, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and K-12 outreach.
